ComcastTIX Sells Out High School Musical At Wachovia Spectrum
ComcastTIX, the exclusive ticket provider for all Wachovia Complex events, sold a capacity 12,028 tickets directly following the on sale on Saturday, November 18 for High School Musical, which takes place at the Wachovia Spectrum on January 11, 2007. ComcastTIX, the new innovated method for consumers to purchase tickets at the Wachovia Complex, took over all ticket sales on October 3, 2006 via ComcastTIX.com and 1-800-298-4200.
"ComcastTIX has quickly become a viable and highly recognizable method for selling our tickets," said Global Spectrum Chief Operating Officer John Page. "We are pleased with how quickly the public has embraced our new ticketing company. The response for tickets via ComcastTIX for all of our events has been overwhelming."
ComcastTIX, the name for the new ticketing company, was created through a branding agreement between Comcast Cable and New Era Tickets, a subsidiary of Comcast-Spectacor which last year sold more than six-million tickets nationally. ComcastTIX.com and 1-800-298-4200 are also the methods to purchase tickets to events at neighboring arenas, the Liacouras Center at Temple University and the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ, and the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, NJ.
The Emmy-award winning Disney Channel Original Movie "High School Musical" becomes a live concert on Thursday, January 11 at 7 p.m. at the Wachovia Spectrum. "High School Musical" has been a television ratings blockbuster and record-hit as its success has been fueled by kids ages 9-14. "High School Musical" was the Disney Channel's most successful movie when it debuted with 7.7 million viewers in its premiere broadcast. It has been decorated with Emmy's for Outstanding Children's Program and Outstanding Choreography and Teen's Choice Awards for Breakout Star (Zac Efron), Chemistry (Vanessa Anne Hudgens and Zac Efron) and Comedy/Musical Show.
