Constant Center Sells Over 300,000 Tickets During First Year With TED TIX

Norfolk, VA (September 6, 2006) - Ted Tix has sold more than 300,000 tickets for events at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in its first year there, according to facility operators Global-Spectrum. Powered by New Era Tickets, Ted Tix became the official ticketing company of Old Dominion University's Constant Convocation Center on September 6, 2005.

Since the inception of this state-of-the-art technology, the 8,600 seat arena earned a spot as the highest-ranked venue under 10,000 seats on Pollstar Magazine's 2005 Year End Top 100 list of arenas world-wide for ticket sales.

"Our goal is to provide the ultimate experience for our fans each and every time they visit the Constant Center," said Doug Higgons, Regional Vice President for Global-Spectrum and General Manager of the Constant Center. "That experience begins with the ticket sale. Our new ticketing company provides many new conveniences and options for our customers to enhance their experience. Ted Tix also provides an opportunity for us to better interact with our customers which is paramount to our success."

Over the past year, The Constant Center has seen sold out performances by Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, and Fall Out Boy, and has hosted other well-known artists such as John Mayer, Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow and James Taylor. The ODU Monarch Basketball team played four sold out games at the center including a buzzer-beater victory over Virginia Commonwealth, while the ODU Lady Monarchs won their 15th consecutive CAA Championship and hosted the first and second rounds of the 2006 Women's NCAA National Championship.

American Idols Live! made history on May 25, 2006 when it became the fastest sell-out in Ted Tix history. In just a matter of minutes after going on sale, tickets for the highly-rated national tour were scooped up by eager fans. The Idols are set to appear Friday, September 15 at 7 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Ted Tix is powered by New Era tickets, a subsidiary of Global-Spectrum's parent company, Comcast-Spectacor.
