Penn Relays Begins New Era In Ticketing
COMCAST-SPECTACOR SUBSIDIARY TO SELL TICKETS TO 112TH EDITION OF PENN RELAYS AT FRANKLIN FIELD
(Philadelphia, PA -- March 13, 2006) The Penn Relays, a tradition in Philadelphia for 112 years, is entering a new era in ticketing as New Era Tickets, the full-service ticketing subsidiary of Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm Comcast-Spectacor, will become the new ticket provider for the competition. This year's event will run at the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29.
"In partnering with New Era Tickets, we will now be able to offer new and exciting opportunities for our Penn Relays customers" said University of Pennsylvania Director of Athletics Steve Bilsky. "New Era Tickets enables us to better market our product, as well as control our inventory and get the tickets to the event into the hands of our customers more quickly."
New Era Tickets, in addition to selling tickets, will handle phone and Internet inquiries from customers regarding Penn Relays.
For 112 years, the Penn Relay Carnival has offered an event for everyone. Held at renowned Franklin Field on the University of Pennsylvania's campus in America's most historic city (Philadelphia), fans can get a chance to see the finest track and field athletes from ages eight to 80.
Many of the world's greatest stars compete each year at the Penn Relays in the USA vs. the World showdown, held on the final day of the meet.
