Paperless Tickets: Fans Will Need Something Besides a Paper Ticket to Get into the Miley Cyrus Concert Friday
Teen pop star Miley Cyrus takes the stage at Wells Fargo Arena Friday night. You'll notice something different when you head into the show. Fans won't be carrying paper tickets.
Marketing Director Adam Flack says, "This concert is completely 100% paperless. This is the first time we've had a show 100% paperless."
Flack says 20% of the Bruce Springsteen tickets were paperless, and they didn't have any problems. He says, "It's a simple process. When you come to the doors, it's handled just like a ticket, except you use your credit card.
Fans will need two things to get in to see the Hannah Montana star. You'll have to bring the credit card you bought the tickets with and a government issued photo i.d. Flack says, "We go to the ticket taker. We give her both of those so she can verify the name on the license is the same as the name on the credit card. She's going to scan the credit card."
Once the ticket taker scans your credit card and checks your i.d, the machine will beep, verifying you bought tickets, then it will print a paper showing you where to sit. Flack says the purpose of paperless tickets is to cut down on scalpers. He says, "It's to keep the tickets in the hands of the fans. We want to make sure if you want to buy a ticket to the show, you have easy access to do so, as opposed to other sources getting them and escalating the price on you."
Flack says the concert organizers decide if it will be a paperless show. And, he says it could be how you'll get into more concerts in the future. As of now, Wells Fargo doesn't have any other paperless tickets shows booked.
Some things to remember for Friday night's concert: The ticket buyer will need to be there, so if you bought tickets for someone else, you'll still need to escort them into the arena, scan your credit card and show your i.d. Extra staff will be on hand to help. Also, doors open two hours early, so you can get in at 5 p.m. for the seven o'clock
